Baby Product Reviews:

Hello there, Jack, here. I'm a very preppy guy (at least until Daddy gets a hold of my wardrobe) or I start rebelling by wearing black nail polish and combat boots. First: Let's discuss baby clothes:
Gerber clothes are durable, reasonably priced, but sized small - I'm wearing 6-9 month sizes already.
Carters outfits are cute, snugly, a little more expensive than Gerber and sized well - I'm wearing 6 month (which means 3-6 month) sizes.
Baby Gap is fantastic, pricey, but let's face it pretty much top-of-the-line in baby gear, and I'm perfectly sized for the 3-6 month clothes.
Gymboree, Children's Place, Oshkosh - these are all fine but I don't own a whole lot so I don't have a good basis of comparison.

Pacifiers: I've spoken with several of my friends and we have all agreed the pacifier is really a matter of personal taste. I prefer Playtex, some prefer Nuk, Avent, Soothie etc. Really this message is for the parents- If you want us to like a particular kind of pacifier because you think it's cute, you better get us hooked quick, because otherwise we'll pick our own preference.

Mom's latest purchase: The Bumbo. All during her pregnancy she talked about how dumb these seats were, but I kept showing her that, although I like my bouncy seat, sometimes I want to be able to look around a lot more than the bouncy seat allows.

I really enjoy the Bumbo because it's ergonomic, lightweight and spit-up-proof. I can look around, talk to Mommy, smile, and even bang on the Bumbo for entertainment. Whatever it's made out of- I can hit it really hard and it doesn't even hurt!

In general I would like to give a shout-out to the bib. Without the bib I would have suffered many a wardrobe malfunction as a result of accidental vomit or drool, but thanks to the bib I was able to continue on with my daily activities without worrying about an embarrassing mess. Thank you, great inventor of the bib!

Mom's Group

My Mom's Group has decided to meet Tuesdays (as well as the regular Thursday) now. We're meeting in eachother's homes. It's really fantastic for us moms. We really enjoy the company and it breaks up our week. In the future I'm sure the kids will be really glad to have the group and reep the benefits as well. Jack really enjoys the play dates...

Despite the risk of injury...

*No babies were harmed in the making of this blog. :-)

Today- Baby-Blackjack

Tomorrow- Paying for my MIT education by counting cards in Las Vegas.

I've been busy!

Hello everyone! Today we have a guest author: Mommy!

Hi, I know it's been a while since the last enrty. I was waiting for pictures from the beach from last weekend and then I got food poisoning. The culprit: turkey deli meat.

Jack has been using his hands a lot, grasping for toys, and also holding his hands together. Here is Jack and Melman (a la Madagascar).

When we went to the beach Jack insisted that he wear one of his pirate outfits. He's laying on the quilt that I had as a baby (my birth announcements look very similar to this picture).

Jack has his first shower at the beach because we didn't want to haul the little tub with us. One of the Moms in my New Mom's Group said this is the only way her daughter gets bathed, so we tried it for ourselves. Turns out- he likes it! Be Warned: Babies are slippery when wet!

And of course we did some tummy-time. We're getting better at remembering to do it every day. Although Jack spent most of the time sucking on his wrist.

I <3 my Pediatrician

I went for my 2 month check up yesterday. I am happy to report that I am 12 lbs 11 oz and 24 3/4 inches long. I am as long as the average 4 month old. Which would explain why some of my clothes are feeling a little cramped...

I'm going to need to speak with the management about this....

Happy Birthday to Me!

Yes ladies and gentlemen I'm two months old today. First I would like to take a moment to make fun of my parents. This hooded sweatshirt I'm wearing was purchased as a "coming home outfit". Since this picture was taken just shy of my two month birthday... I'm guessing this would not have fit me to come home from the hospital. My sources tell me that on the day I came home from the hospital my parents tried to fit me in it. Apparently I was too small!

Now I am not too small. I go to the doctor on Thursday. I wonder how tall I am and how much I weigh... I think I'm growing fast but I'm new at this so I'm not the best judge.

Today I also went to visit my friend Colin. He is one week and 3 days old. We can't wait to get bigger so we can play together and get into trouble!
