I just couldn't

I just couldn't keep this one to myself. I was downstairs reading when Matt called me to come up because he "needed help". I grabbed the camera, just in case, and this was what I found. He told me that Jack made him do it. How funny/sad is that?!

Have a good Monday!

So Satisfying

Yesterday evening we learned that playing with the kitten is a group activity. Link likes to play (duh). Jack likes to play with Link. Monkey likes to play and she doesn't even try to pretend she's above it all (which is particularly amusing). Daddy likes to supervise (read: be amused).

In case you don't know, or haven't been able to infer from my blog thus far I'm type A. Like kinda scary-control-freak Type A. I make lists and take great satisfaction in crossing things off. Well Jack's bedroom has been on the list as a "Christmas Present" but the problem is he needed his big boy bed in early October. So instead of doing it in one satisfyingly exhausting weekend we've been working on things for months. Which drives me bananas!

Today I said enough is enough and I hung these pictures.

I adhered these vinyl letters to the wall. I got them at Words Anywhere dot com. They have insane font and color selection so creative me had a blast picking them out!

Also in the basement we attempted to tackle the ongoing storage problem with this cube unit by the TV. More Storage=More Organized=Happy Mommy.

I also finally got a coat of paint on the kitchen (sshhhh! It's a surprise). Hopefully, it's a Christmas surprise and not a Oops-we-didn't-finish-this-in-time-for-Christmas-so-Happy-Birthday!-surprise.
And the best part?! It's only Saturday, so now I can continue to manically ravage my to-do list tomorrow too!

At the Gym

Emily 1 organized a great activity at a real Gymnastics center. The tots had a blast!

My parenting lesson of the day: Sometimes activities that my toddler enjoys the most will be stressful for me. Instead of trying to enjoy it for myself I should allow myself the temporary luxury of living vicariously through my kid(s) and enjoying it with them.

Group Effort

GiGi and Papa got Jack his dresser for his big boy room.

Mommy assembled the dresser and painted the knobs.

Daddy installed the more, erm, challenging knobs and took the video.

Knobs- $1.19 each
Paint- Free (I already had it from previous projects)
Personalized dresser with knobs he loves- Priceless

I'm psyched he loves it, but this big-boy room has turned into quite the project and I feel it looming over me! Ack! So getting a huge part done makes me feel really good (and relieved)!

Santa!

We pushed the naughty button (several times) to see if Jack was naughty or nice. It looked touch and go but in the end it decided Jack was nice.

We mailed our letter to the North Poll. (Complete with Pole-imported snow.)

We waited for Santa.

We sat for Santa. I didn't even try to sit him by himself, I could tell he was getting scared, but by the end of the afternoon of shopping we acknowledged Santa with a small head-nod.

We also enjoyed the pointsettia tree.

First Mate Update

At 22 weeks the baby is the size of a spaghetti squash. I'm measuring at 24 weeks though and there aren't any comparable fruits/veggies. One midwife tried to change my due date but another says that some women just measure ahead but it doesn't mean anything so who knows...

Goodbye Weekend

Thanks for the memories. Be kind, Monday.
