Reno, Sweet Reno

This weekend we are working on puttin in our new bamboo floors. It's slow to start because there are tiny cuts that need to be made to fit around the molding of the sliding door. It took until about noon just to lay the first two rows.

During that time Jack took his first mid-morning nap EVER. He slept for 40 minutes, for those of you not tracking Jack's sleeping pattern as obsessively as I am- This is a momentous occasion! Jack slept in his crib while this was going on outside right below his bedroom window.

Apparently what we has been doing wrong was we should have been trying to make a racket, not trying to be quiet!

Then Jack woke up and wanted to check on the progress.

My mom and I decided to come up with some errands that needed running so that Jack wouldn't be subjected to the noises of the pneumatic nailer, table saw and miter saw all day. When we got home the only place for Jack to eat dinner was in the kitchen, like this:

At the end of the day we had already 'covered a lot of ground' so to speak.

Brenna- how is the progress going on the NCSS? I think I'm noticing a difference.

yes, i think we're seeing some progress too. BUT! it takes a super long time to work. AND! the baby has to be in a good frame of mind (not teething, gassy, fussy, overtired, or some other unidentifiable state). our progress is simply that we can sometimes get him to sleep without nursing and that we can sometimes get him back to sleep in the crib without picking him up. no progress on the swaddling...

one of the hardest parts about NCSS is the huge amounts of patience involved. sometimes i just don't have enough to follow my plan. fortunately, pietro has infinitely more patience than me.

anyways...so glad to hear that you have some progress!!!

the floors look beautiful!!!

The house is coming along great. The floors really look good. Once you guys are finished you have to host one the meetings so we can see the fabulous results! So Jack is getting better at napping. Yay for you!

the floors DO look beautiful!! very impressive work! (although it did take me a few seconds to figure out you weren't talking about a city in Las Vegas in your title.) i am SO excited to hear about Jack's nappage...hope it repeated itself today!

Um, I woke up this morning realizing that I think I said "city in Las Vegas" rather than "city in Nevada" in my previous comment. Can I claim a "mom moment"?
