Catch me if you can!

We woke up bright and early this morning full of energy for the long day ahead! Gi-Gi, Jack and I ate a quick breakfast and drove down to Silver Spring to run an errand for my mom on the way to the farmers market. Once in old town we hit the booths. We got ramps, which are an onion-like veggie indigenous to WV. We also snagged some shallots, broccoli, a dozen eggs and 2 special yummy loaves of bread!

These are the ramps.

Then we stopped at the bakery booth, run by a french chef -how awesome is that?- and snagged some yummy treats. After snacking Jack ran into the fountain. Sometime I'm going to bring his bathing suit for this.

Then we swung back to the store my mom needed to run to on our way home. When we got home we came home to this:
We fed Jack lunch and put him down for his nap. Then I dug a 2ft deep hole in the planter bed to help try to solve the drainage problem. Filled it with gravel. And then my mom and I tilled all the potting soil, top soil, and peat moss together and filled the planter bed. A bit too soon Jack woke up from his nap but luckily he waited patiently for us to finish. This project might not sound like much but it was exhausting and I have the blisters to prove it!

Suddenly we realized the county dump was about to close so we frantically loaded up both doors and all the molding into the van and my brother and I flew over to the dump. From when we realized the dump was about to close we had 3o minutes and it takes 20 to get there, normally. So we were very rushed but we made it.

On the way home we stopped for dinner supplies, which means we stopped for food and booze, to celebrate mothers day.

When we got home this was what we found.

Then we fed Jack and put him to bed and cleaned and cleaned and cleaned the house. After the ant invasion I'm twitchy because now we have a bunch of crazy flies in the house.

Whew!

Now I'm pooped.

Whew, I am still exhausted myself. Interesting how you are suddenly becoming so much more "green" than dad and I! And I thought we were pretty green! You and Matt keep inspiring me! LOVED that farmer's market! Thanks for the great Mother's Day Dinner, Tom! Em's Mom
